Power and Money without a lot of oversight!

I read an OP-ED on iheartoswego.com yesterday from a gentleman named Peter Esposito talking about the Industrial Development Agency and their decision last week to allow Novellis to keep up to $15,000,000 in Sales Tax to help rebuild their plant after 2 major fires.

What disturbed me about this was that in the IDA minutes from the January 6th Public Hearing in Scriba it included the emails Mr. Esposito had sent to them listing his issues with that potential outcome, based upon his experiences in the Energy Industry and him having friends and family in Oswego County.

I also went to the meeting at the IDA office on January 7th and at no time was this information brought up in the open parts of that meeting.

It seems disingenuous of the IDA to keep repeating they had no negative comments or questions at the Public Hearing, and then put them in their Public Meeting minutes, and then again state on the record at the meeting on the 7th that there were no negative or questioning comments when they had them on the day of the Public Hearing, and included them in the minutes.

I feel that this organization needs to be more careful and open about their transactions taking place in Oswego County with members of the Legislature present and past on their board.

Thank You
