Thank You For Stepping Up

To The Editor:

I am very late in getting this in, due to illness. However….. even being late I wanted to make sure that I took the time to thank everyone that took part in the third annual food drive hosted by Tops Friendly Market in Fulton.

Manager Jim and his crew have stepped up for the third year in a row to make sure that some of the needs in our area were met.

Thank you very much to everyone at Tops for showing such compassion in working/supporting the feeding of others.

This year, we were able to deliver 10 cases of vegetables and 15 bags of food to the Meals on Wheels program.

Often time the wonderful drivers of the program come across those who are homebound or weather bound and do not have little to anything in the cupboard.

The drivers often carry a few items of food to assist in getting them by for the moment.

The other benefactor was Catholic Charities.

We were able to deliver just short of 50 bags of food to them. I was amazed at how fast and consistent the donations come in and it was heartwarming to see how our community come together to assist in making this another great year in feeding others.

Thank you to all who bought that extra item and dropped it in the bin, to those that went beyond and donated several items and to Tops for the support and donations they made.
