Their everywhere, their everywhere!

Looking around Oswego County you see them popping up everywhere!

Solar Farms are blocking up the scenery blowing everyone’s mind.

Frank, its renewable energy, why do you appear to have a problem with that.

If you take the time to look where they are popping up.

They are in fields where crops use to grow. In fields where corn use to grow, where beans use to grow, where wheat use to grow. Those fields won’t be able to grow anything for multiple decades.

Also, the drinking water may also be contaminated as well.

Why?

Money, Money, Money! It’s not about energy, it’s all about Money. Yes, they produce energy but the damage they are going to cause will take decades to correct.

The disposal of the damaged or worn-out panels hasn’t been solved yet, the fast answer is to put them in the Ocean or underground right now.

Those answers are the worst ones, how long before the Oceans are full of our human waste and our landfills are filled.

Now you ask why I’m talking about this issue now.

Well, our, that is your Oswego County legislature is passing legislation allowing them tax credits for a return of Money. Your State and Federal governments are giving out P.I.L.O.T. (Payment in lieu of Taxes) agreements like candy on Halloween, well just like the kids say “Trick or Treat” well the trick is on the public.

Put them on Brown Field sites that already exist, don’t create more. Put them over parking lots, put them on top of buildings.

Put them anywhere but on good farmland.

I’m asking this and bringing this to everyone’s attention now to save our future generations from a major catastrophe.

Our future generations will say “What were they thinking”.

Stop it now.

Call your State, Federal and local elected officials and tell them to stop the bleed now.

Frank Castiglia Jr.

Oswego count legislator 25th District.
