Oswego’s 45th Independence Day Celebration Set July 6

OSWEGO, NY – One of Oswego’s most anticipated events of the summer, the 45th annual Oswego Independence Day Celebration will take place on July 6.

Beginning at 1 p.m., this year’s parade, featuring the theme “Everyday Heroes,” will travel from West First and Schuyler streets to Bridge Street (Route 104) continuing west to Liberty Street and ending at Oswego High School.

The pride of Oswego, the OHS Marching Buccaneers will be one of the many participants in Oswego’s 45th Annual Independence Day Parade to be held July 6 beginning at 1 p.m.One of the highlights of the summer, the parade will offer an entertaining mix of music, floats, displays and marching bands including the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers, CNY Fire and Police Band, The Towpath Volunteers, the Hannibal High School Marching Band, the Syracuse Brigadiers and the White Sabers.

Sunday evening, following the parade, the 45th Annual Independence Celebration continues with a stunning live performance by the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra at historic Fort Ontario.

This free, patriotic concert will begin at 8 p.m.

The celebration concludes with a breathtaking fireworks display over the Oswego Harbor.

Sponsored by the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the city of Oswego, this year’s fireworks display will provide the perfect ending to the celebration.
