OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego area escaped the snow pounding other places received on Wednesday.
According to Bill Gregway, local observer for the national Weather Service, Oswego received 1.2 inches of snow.
“There was a lot, an awful lot, to our south and west,” he said. “It caused a lot of accidents and closings elsewhere. For us, it was no big deal.”
The snowfall for the month now stands at 5.4 inches.
For the winter the total continues to rise. It’s now 177.9 inches.
“We’re in pretty good shape. Winter isn’t over,” Gregway cautioned. “We’re nowhere near our average snow for March.”
For March, Oswego normally receives 19.3 inches of snow.
An average winter snowfall is 150.8 inches, he added.
