The Oswego Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO announced its endorsement of Billy Barlow for mayor of Oswego.
Barlow has strong labor support and has also received the endorsement of Laborers Local 633 and Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 73.
” Billy was endorsed by the Oswego County Labor Council when he ran for and won his race for Fifth Ward Councilman and has since proven his continued support for Labor and the working class of Oswego. Billy has an excellent understanding of New York State’s Prevailing Wage Laws and the apprenticeship language that is written into many of the municipal contracts involved with construction in the city of Oswego,” said Jim Jackson of the Oswego Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. “The Oswego County Labor Council strongly believes that at this time Billy Barlow is the best man for the job and is proud to endorse him in his campaign to be the next mayor of Oswego.”
“This particular endorsement fills me with a sense of pride as my grandfather is a retiree from the local laborers union. Like so many families in our community, our local unions have helped give my family the opportunity to live a better life and I am grateful for the support of the hardworking men and women the Labor Council represents. I look forward to continuing to work with the Labor Council to support and protect middle class jobs and the taxpayers of Oswego,” said Barlow.
Barlow is running with the endorsement of the Republican, Conservative, and Independence Parties.
