  1. For anyone who wants to get a feel for the ‘old days,’ these concerts are a touch of a bygone era. Sitting in a relatively new park (Breitbeck was a coal holding area for the steam station prior to the 1980s so it wasn’t here in the old days, so it’s our newest park), the lovely breezes off the lake even on the hottest days, makes for an amazing experience.

I wish there was a permanent gazebo to showcase this amazing park, and for that old time feel, but the next best thing is the moveable bandstand. I guess that Harborfest might find the gazebo in the way of their activities.

But, when you close your eyes, you can almost imagine yourself listening to Big Band tunes in front of a gazebo. The bands that play are professional, and there is nothing ‘second rate’ about the experience.

I’ve been attending these events at least a couple of times each summer, and think that if you are looking for a way to introduce children to the fun experience of a park, summer, families, and music, not to mention those AMAZING Oswego SUNSETS!, well, this is the way to go!

IF you’ve never been, THIS summer is the time to start a new tradition that will make memories to hold you through the dreary winter months!
