Oswego Clearview Squirts Pick Up A Win and Tie On The Road Against Lysander


Oswego, NY –  The Oswego Clearview Squirt hockey team captured a 2-0 win and battled to a 2-2 tie on the road against Lysander 1 and Lysander 2 recently, according to Oswego Head Coach Eric Koproski.

Oswego improved to 10-4-1 overall on the season, and 8-3-1 in the Snowbelt League.

“These were two of our toughest games in recent weeks,” said Koproski. “We were very pleased to come away with a win and a tie on Lysander’s ice.”

Against Lysander 1, the Oswego Clearview Squirts got all of the scoring they needed in the first period, enroute to a 2-0 victory.

Oswego forward Spencer Stepien got Clearview on the board at the 5:24 mark of the first period with a goal off assists from Alex Koproski and Andrew Noyes.

Oswego’s Jeremy Susino followed that up with an unassisted tally just minutes later to close out the scoring.

According to Koproski, Oswego goalie Tyler Wallace and the Oswego defense led by Isaiah Raby, Nick Burnett, Lane Phillips, and Bryson Bush minimized Lysander’s chances throughout the second and third period to secure the win.

Wallace had 14 saves in the victory.

The following day, Oswego scrapped out a 2-2 tie with the Lysander 2 team.  Oswego jumped out to an early lead at 8:59 of the first period, when defenseman Burnett scored top shelf on the Lysander net minder. Oswego added their second goal later in the second period when Stepien and Koproski found Noyes in front of the net to make it 2-0.

After multiple Oswego penalties in the third period left Clearview shorthanded, Lysander fought back with two late power play goals to tie the game at 2-2.

“We made some mistakes late in the second and third periods with regard to penalties and were fortunate to keep Lysander’s scoring at only two goals,” Koproski said.

Wallace had 12 saves to help preserve the tie.

Oswego’s Mason Bricker, Patrick Galvin, and Jack Stephens also contributed strongly throughout the weekend.

Scoring included:
Oswego vs. Lysander 1: Stepien 1 goal; Susino 1 goal; Koproski 1 assist; and Noyes 1 assist.
Oswego vs. Lysander 2: Burnett 1 goal; Noyes 1 goal; Koproski 1 assist; and Stepien 1 assist.
