The Oswego County Human Resources Department will hold Civil Service exams for clerk, typist, and senior typist positions Jan. 16, 2016.
The deadline to apply is Dec. 16.
“Position vacancies are anticipated for these entry-level positions which involve the performance of a variety of clerical tasks,” said Carol Alnutt, director of human resources. “The eligible lists resulting from these exams are used to fill vacancies in Oswego County departments, towns, villages, school districts and special districts. Salaries and benefits vary depending on location and include membership in the New York State Retirement System.”
Candidates must be legal residents of Oswego County or an Oswego County school district for a minimum of four months immediately preceding the date of the exam.
Oswego County school districts include Sandy Creek, Pulaski, Hannibal, Phoenix, APW, Mexico, Central Square, and BOCES.
The cities of Fulton and Oswego and their school districts are not under the jurisdiction of the Oswego County Director of Human Resources.
Candidates who meet the qualifications and who are successful in an examination will have their names placed on the eligible list in the order of final score.
The names of qualified candidates will remain on the eligible list for a minimum of one year.
