Oswego County BOCES Teacher Recognized for Outstanding Commitment to Deaf/Hard of Hearing Students

The Educational Support Service Personnel (ESSP) organization presented Oswego County BOCES Special Education Teacher Tammy Seymour, above, with the 2012 Robert F. Panara Award. The organization is comprised of educational professionals, deaf and hard of hearing youth, and families of deaf and hard of hearing children and stands committed to the education of children and youth who are deaf or hard of hearing. Each year the ESSP selects one outstanding individual who exemplifies its mission and demonstrates continued support and steadfast commitment to success of students who are deaf and/or hard of hearing. Seymour, a 27-year veteran of OCB and a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher, joins an elite group of teachers, college faculty, and interpreters who have received the Robert F. Panara Award and is pictured above with a commemorative plaque and award which was presented to her at the organization’s spring conference held this year in Rochester, NY.
