OSWEGO, NY – At about midnight today (January 23), investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop of a 2013 Mazda sedan in the area of Syracuse Avenue and East Albany Street in the city of Oswego for a speed limit violation.
The subsequent investigation resulted in the seizure of 3 bags of heroin, ½ gram of cocaine and several hypodermic syringes, police said.
In addition to being issued a traffic ticket the driver of the vehicle, Francis J. Hoefer, 33, of 1041 Rathburn Road, Oswego, was arrested and criminally charged with:
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, intent to sell – Class B Felony
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree – Class A Misdemeanor
Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument- Class A Misdemeanor.
It is alleged that Hoefer possessed ½ gram of cocaine, 3 bags of heroin- with intent to sell and a hypodermic needle.
Hoefer was arraigned in Oswego Court and released on his own recognizance.
He is scheduled to return to Oswego City Court on February 24 at 9:30 a.m.
A passenger in the vehicle, Nicole M. Kenyon, 39, of 416 Seneca St. Fulton, was arrested and criminally charged as follows:
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree – Class A Misdemeanor.
It is alleged that Kenyon possessed a hypodermic syringe containing heroin.
Kenyon was processed and released on $100 cash bail.
She has a return court date of February 19 at 9:30 a.m. in Oswego City Court.
Today (January 23), at approximately 11:40 a.m., investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force, assisted by a city of Fulton Police Department K-9 Unit, executed a search warrant on a 2007 Dodge Nitro on State Route 481 at Burt Street in the city of Fulton.
The operator was Michael T. Bort, 45, of 63 N. Third St. Apartment #3 Fulton.
Investigators reportedly located and seized 49 bags of heroin.
Bort was arrested and criminally charged with:
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, Intent to sell – Class B Felony
Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree – Class A Misdemeanor.
It is alleged that Bort possessed the heroin with intent to sell such.
Bort was processed and arraigned in Fulton City Court where he was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond.
He is scheduled to return to Fulton City Court on February 4 at 9 a.m.
The Oswego County Drug Task Force is comprised of members from the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, Fulton City Police Department and Oswego City Police Department.
