VOLNEY – A search warrant was executed on the residence of Martin E. Madden in the town of Volney following an investigation conducted by the Oswego County Drug Task Force, the Fulton City Police Department and the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department.
The search warrant reportedly resulted in the discovery of 27 marihuana plants and more than two pounds of processed marihuana and fireworks within his residence and outbuildings, it was announced Oct. 22.
Madden was subsequently charged with the following:
• Criminal possession of marihuana in the 2nd degree, a class D Felony
• Unlawfully growing cannabis, a class A misdemeanor
• Unlawfully dealing with fireworks and dangerous fireworks, a class B misdemeanor
Madden was arraigned by Hon. James Aluzzi of the Volney Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bond.
He is scheduled to appear in the Volney Town Court on November 17 at 6 p.m.
The present charges represent an allegation that the defendants engaged in such conduct. As a matter of law, defendants are presumed to be innocent of these charges.
