Oswego County Drug Task Force Announces Arrest

OSWEGO, NY – On Monday (July 20), at approximately 1:22 p.m., investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force in conjunction with the Oswego City Police Department executed a search warrant for the person of Anthony G. Raymond, 29, as he operated a vehicle northbound on State Route  481 just north of County Route 57 in the city of Oswego.

Raymond and the vehicle were searched and approximately 2 grams of heroin were reportedly located within the vehicle.

DTF investigators additionally executed a search warrant at Raymond’s residence at 203 W. Seneca St., upper apartment, Oswego.

At that location, packaging material consistent with the possession and sale of heroin was located and seized, according to police.

Raymond was arrested and criminally charged as follows:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, intent to sell – Class B Felony
Endangering the Welfare of a Child – Class A Misdemeanor – 2 counts

The two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a child are based upon Raymond having two small children in the vehicle with him at the time of his alleged possession of heroin.

Raymond made admissions that he had intended to package the heroin into approximately 30 to 40 individual bags and sell such for $20 apiece, police said.

Raymond was arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

He is due back in Oswego City Court on August 4, at 9:30 a.m.
