Oswego County Drug Task Force Announces Cocaine Possession Arrests

On Tuesday May 21, at approximately 9:30 a.m.  investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Oswego City Police Department, Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, Fulton City Police Department, US Border Patrol, US Homeland Security Investigations and US Internal Revenue Services, executed the first of multiple narcotics related search warrants in Oswego County.

A 2012 GMC Yukon was stopped as it traveled north bound on State Route 48 in the town of Granby just south of the city of Fulton.

The sole occupant of the vehicle was Geovanni Gonzalez, 35, of 4441 County Route 4 Oswego.

The subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 10.23 ounces, or 290 grams, of cocaine.

Further search warrants were executed at 4441 County Route 4 and 4439, Apartment 2, County Route 4 in the town of Scriba as well as 75 Eisenhower Ave. and 450 W. First St. in the city of Oswego.

As a result of the search warrant executions, a total of 820.5 grams, or approximately 29 ounces, of cocaine was seized.

The estimated street value of the seized cocaine is $65,640.

$5,657 in US currency was also seized.

Gonzalez as well as Amy L. Emmons, 29, of 75 Eisenhower Ave., Oswego, were arrested and charged with one count each of:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree- Class A-1 Felony

Gonzalez was arraigned in Granby Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail.

Emmons is being held at the Oswego City Police Department awaiting arraignment in Oswego City Court.

The investigation is ongoing and further arrests and/or criminal charges are a possibility.

The Oswego County Drug Task Force is comprised of members from the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Border Patrol and Oswego City Police Department.
