MEXICO – On Wednesday (February 4), at approximately 5:16 a.m., the Oswego County Drug Task Force with the assistance of the New York State Police Special Operations Response Team (SORT) and Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, executed a methamphetamine related search warrant at 7 Mexico Point Drive West in the town of Mexico.
As a result of the investigation, a total of 41 inactive one-pot methamphetamine labs were located as well as other materials and equipment used to produce methamphetamine, according to police.
Additionally, approximately 5 ounces of methamphetamine oil, several grams of “finished” methamphetamine and two illegally possessed long guns were seized, according to police.
Two residents of 7 Mexico Point Drive West were arrested and criminally charged as follows:
Shaun M. Gauthier, 27: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree- Class AII Felony; Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the 3rd degree- Class D Felony; Criminal Possession of a Firearm in the 4th degree, Felon in possession – Class A Misdemeanor.
Courtney L. LaValley, 26: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree- Class AII Felony; Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the 3rd degree – Class D Felony
Gauthier and LaValley were arraigned in Mexico Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility on no bail.
Both are scheduled to return to Mexico Town Court on February 10 at 7 p.m.
Also assisting at the scene was the Mexico Volunteer Fire Department.
The Oswego County Drug Task Force is comprised of members from the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, Fulton City Police Department and Oswego City Police Department.
