This is OCO’s 13th annual fund-raising event, set for April 5, at Lakeview Lanes.

Proceeds will be used to help combat the growing problem of hunger in Oswego County.

“We chose ‘Retro Bowl’ as this year’s theme so we could enjoy the fun fads and fashion from the past, and also to reflect on some significant milestones achieved by community action and Oswego County Opportunities since its humble beginnings in the mid-1960s,” said Diane Cooper-Currier, OCO’s executive director. “While the hairstyles, music and fashions have changed a lot over the years, OCO’s mission has remained steadfast: to help people, to inspire and empower partnerships, to change lives for the better and to support our communities.”

“We’re very grateful to Oswego County Federal Credit Union for their generous support,” Cooper-Currier continued. “As a ‘Building Dreams’ sponsor, they are demonstrating a significant investment in OCO services that make a difference in the lives of more than 20,000 individuals each year.”

The OCO Retro Bowl will take place from noon – 6 p.m.

Openings remain for five-person teams, with choice of flights: noon – 2:30 p.m. or 3 – 5:30 p.m. (first come, first served).

Team registration is $100. Businesses and individuals are invited to donate door prizes for the raffles and silent auction and major sponsors are being solicited as well.

In addition to support for existing services, OCO will set aside a percentage of the Retro Bowl proceeds to build financial resources for the future.

“As the community action agency for Oswego County, we strongly support and assist with efforts to fight hunger, because it aligns perfectly with OCO’s mission,” Cooper-Currier said.

For registration or sponsor information, or to donate a door prize, contact OCO at 598-4717 or visit www.oco.org
