Oswego County Holds Annual Water Tasting Contest

OSWEGO – The Oswego County Health Department’s Environmental Division will hold its 25th annual tap water taste contest during “Health and Wellness Night,” June 11, at the Oswego Farmers’ Market on West First Street.

The purpose of this friendly competition is to remind people of the importance of protecting the valuable water resources in Oswego County and across the state.

Visitors will sample drinking water from various municipal systems in Oswego County and vote for their favorite.

The winner of the county competition advances to the Syracuse regional contest later in June, and regional winners will compete for the state title at the New York State Fair in August.

This year’s competition is run by the Water and Wastewater Education and Outreach Committee and the Oswego County Health Department’s Environmental Division.

For information about the drinking water contest, call the Oswego County Health Department at 349-3557 or 1-800-596-3200, ext. 3557.

  1. What’s that white stuff that floats on top of the tap water? I’ve been buying expensive Bottled Water from Erie County.
