Oswego County Sheriff’s Office: Monday, 8/10/09

On 8/07/09 at 9:15 a.m., a 17 year old male residing in the Town of Sandy Creek was arrested for Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor, after being accused of taking five rolls of quarters from a vehicle that was parked on Main Street in the Village of Sandy Creek. The youth was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Sandy Creek Court on 8/13/09.

On 8/07/09, Tabitha L. Cleveland, 24, of PO Box 2262, Liverpool, NY, was operating a 1999 Chevrolet southbound on Johnson Road in the Town of New Haven at 10:19 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle 1,000 feet north of Hanson Road. She reportedly lost control after rounding a curve in the roadway causing the vehicle to exit the roadway, strike and earth embankment, and overturn. Ms. Cleveland, the sole occupant, was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Syracuse. Unsafe speed appears to have been a contributing factor in the incident.

On 8/07/09 at 11:36 a.m., Stephen T. Lopitz, 57, of 2138 CR 26, Parish, NY, was arrested for Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor, after he allegedly drove off from a Town of Albion gas station on 7/17/09 without paying for the gas he pumped. Mr. Lopitz reportedly entered the business and upon being told the pump could only be turned on if he was pre-paying or using a credit card, he left his wallet with the cashier. After he drove off without paying or retrieving his wallet, which contained no cash, the cashier discovered his identity through a card found in the wallet. Mr. Lopitz was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Albion Court on 8/07/09.

On 8/07/09, Merle W. Wilder, 58, of 1357 CR 3, Hannibal, NY, was operating a 1993 Geo westbound on SR 3 in the Town of Hannibal at 3:23 p.m. when he collided with the rear end of a westbound 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Ronald G. Lindsley, 50, of 177 Schoolcraft Road, Sterling, NY. The incident occurred 5/10 of a mile east of Pollard Road as Mr. Lindsley slowed in traffic due to an uninvolved vehicle that was stopped facing eastbound on the shoulder of the westbound lane. Following too closely and uninvolved vehicle appear to have been contributing factors in the incident. Mr. Wilder was ticketed for Following Too Closely.

On 8/07/09 at 8:11 p.m., Miguel Perez, 46, of 84 West Mohawk St., Oswego, NY, was charged with Disorderly Conduct, a violation, stemming from an incident that occurred in front of his residence during which he allegedly caused a disturbance by yelling in an attempt to thwart an ongoing investigation into an unrelated incident. Mr. Perez was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Oswego City Court on 9/03/09. This incident and subsequent arrest occurred while Oswego County Deputies were assisting an Oswego City Police Officer with the unrelated incident.

On 8/08/09 at 9:55 a.m., Clarence R. Wyman, 47, of 15311 Route 104, Martville, NY, was arrested for Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor, after he was accused of pumping gas and driving off from a Town of Minetto business without paying for the gas on 8/07/09. Mr. Wyman was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Minetto Court on 8/20/09.

On 8/08/08 at 8:54 p.m., Conor T. Kays, 25, of PO Box 723, Mexico, NY, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (suspension for failing to pay driver responsibility assessment), and Inadequate Plate Lamp, stemming from a traffic stop that occurred on Main Street just east of Ames Street in the Village of Mexico. Mr. Kays was released is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Mexico Court on 8/25/09. The passenger in the vehicle removed the vehicle from the scene.

On 8/09/09 at 12:39 a.m., Eric M. Joannis, 27, of 300 Russell Ave., Rochester, NY, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving With .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol, after he was found to be under the influence of alcohol following the investigation into a suspicious vehicle that was parked on SR 104 in the Town of Oswego. Mr. Joannis is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Oswego Court on 8/31/09.

On 8/09/09 at 2:28 a.m., Keith E. Britton, 23, of 1770 CR 17, Williamstown, NY, was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree, a class E felony; Driving While Intoxicated, a class E felony; Driving With .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol, a class E felony; Failed to Stop at a Stop Sign; and for Illegal Signal:Stop/Slow, following the investigation into a traffic stop that occurred on CR 17 in the Town of Williamstown. The stop was initiated after Mr. Britton was observed failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of CR 19 and SR 13, then failing to signal a right hand turn. Mr. Britton was arraigned before the Hon. Kenneth Adkins, Town of Scriba Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to appear before Town of Williamstown Court on 8/18/09 to answer the charges.

On 8/09/09 at 9:55 p.m., Gregory M. Pasiak, 19, of 21 Garden Drive, Oswego, NY, was arrested for three counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child, First Degree, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from an incident during which he is accused of giving alcohol to individuals under the age of 21 during a party held at his residence on 7/31/09. Mr. Pasiak was arraigned before the Hon. Kenneth Adkins, Town of Scriba Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court on 8/13/09 to answer the charges.
