Oswego County Sheriff’s Office: Monday, 9/14/09

On 9/03/09, James T. Soucy, 19, of 43 Liberty St., Oswego, NY, was operating a 1998 Oldsmobile eastbound on SR 104 in the Town of Scriba at 6:50 a.m., when he reportedly rear-ended an eastbound 2005 Jeep suburban operated by Deborah E. Stevenson, 50, of 1734 SR 48, Fulton, NY. The impact caused the Jeep to rear-end an eastbound 2001 Ford pickup truck operated by Henry A. Myers, 56, of 194 Buckingham St., Watertown, NY. The incident occurred 1/10 of a mile east of CR 53 as Mr. Myers was reportedly making a left turn into a gas station. Ms. Stevenson was reportedly stopped completely in the roadway awaiting Mr. Myers’ turn at the time of the incident. Mr. Soucy reportedly came over a hillcrest and was reportedly blinded by the sunlight. Drivers Soucy and Myers, along with a passenger in the Myers’ vehicle, were all transported by ambulance to the Oswego Hospital. Unsafe speed appears to have been a contributing factor.

On 9/04/09, Paulann P. Levine, 33, of 235 W. Fourth St., Oswego, NY, was operating a 1994 Pontiac southbound on CR 45 in the Town of Palermo at 10:23 a.m. when she reportedly crossed the intersection at CR 4 and collided with an eastbound 2005 Ford bus registered to Oswego County Opportunities and operated by Allen E. Lester, Jr. A third vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck, which was stopped northbound on CR 45, was also struck by the Pontiac. Ms. Levine and her passengers, Austin A. Levine, 13, and Steve R. Levine, 15, were all transported by ambulance to Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse. Failure to yield the right of way appears to have been a contributing factor.

On 9/11/09 at 11:29 a.m., Bryan S. Coulter, 20, of 501 Phinney Rd., Hannibal, NY, was arrested for Assault, Second Degree, a class D felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from the investigation into a domestic incident during which he was accused of causing physical injury to a male victim while in the presence of a minor. Mr. Coulter was arraigned before the Hon. Luther Dennison, Town of Hannibal Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to appear before Town of Granby Court on 9/14/09 to answer the charges.

On 9/11/09 at 4:42 p.m., a 15 year old male residing in the Town of Mexico, was taken into custody based on a Family Court warrant. The youth was transported to the Hillbrook Detention Center where he will await a court appearance before Oswego County Family Court.

On 9/12/09 at 1:48 a.m., Rhiannon J. Haines, 30, of 21 Senior Ave., Fulton, NY, was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree; Driving While Intoxicated; Driving With .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol; and Inadequate Muffler, following a traffic stop at CR 7 and Byer Road in the Town of Oswego. Ms. Haines was issued tickets and released to a third party. She is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Oswego Court on 10/12/09.

On 9/12/09 at 2:12 a.m., Jeremy P. Smith, 29, of 3690 CR 57, Apt. D, Fulton, NY, was arrested based on a warrant issued by Fulton City Court. Mr. Smith was turned over to a member of the Fulton Police Department for further processing. Sheriff’s Deputies had answered a complaint of possible harassment at his address when their investigation revealed the outstanding warrant against Mr. Smith.

On 9/12/09, Erik D. Skiba, 22, of 320 E. Union Ave., Las Cruces, New Mexico, was operating a 1995 GMC Suburban westbound on SR 104 in the Town of Mexico at 7:07 a.m. when he reportedly fell asleep and drove off the roadway and into a ditch on the north side of the road. The vehicle continued to travel in the ditch for approximately 100 feet before striking a small tree and overturning. Mr. Skiba was transported by ambulance to the Oswego Hospital.

On 9/13/09 at 11:14 a.m., John D. Northrup, 32, of 393 Rathburn Road, Lot 15, Fulton, NY, was arrested for Criminal Contempt, Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor, for reportedly violating an Order of Protection. Mr. Northrup was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Granby Court on 9/28/09.

On 9/13/09 at 5:15 a.m., Rebecca L. Wallis, 35, of 565 Red Schoolhouse Road, Fulton, NY, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (suspended 6/22/06 for failure to answer a summons in T/Palermo), and Speed in Zone, following a traffic stop on SR 3 in the Town of Palermo. Ms. Rallis was released on tickets returnable to Town of Palermo Court on 9/28/09.

On 9/13/09 at 11:00 p.m., James D. LeBlanc, 59, of 14 RSA, Hastings, NY, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving with .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol, and Inadequate Lighting, following a traffic stop on SR 11 in the Town of Hastings. Mr. LeBlanc was issued tickets and released and is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Hastings Court on 9/28/09.
