FULTON, NY – State Police in Fulton are investigating a fatal crash that occurred shortly before 5 p.m. today (June 17) on State Route 3 in the town of Hannibal.
The investigation has revealed a 1998 Saturn, operated by Dylan R. Blair, 18, from Fulton, along with three other passengers, were traveling westbound on State Route 3 when he came upon a vehicle slowing down to assist a disabled vehicle who was off the roadway and parked along the shoulder.
Witnesses state the Blair vehicle attempted to pass the slowed vehicles and crossed over into the oncoming lane and struck a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, operated by Cheryl K. Murnane, 47, from Martville, NY, head-on.
Murnane was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for non-life threatening injuries.
Dylan Blair was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three passengers in his vehicle:
• Joshua D. Barnello, 18, from Fulton suffered non-life threatening internal injuries
• Brittany R.M. Donahue, 17, from Fulton suffered facial fracture and lacerations
• Miranda A. Bivens, 18, from Oswego suffered non-life threatening internal injuries
All three passengers were transported to Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse.
The investigation is continuing.
