Oswego, NY – The Oswego Farmers’ Market continues Thursday, October 1st with a special Halloween treat. Area children and their parents can celebrate Halloween a little early this year by participating in the Children’s’ Costume Parade beginning at 6:00 pm at the Farmers’ Market in downtown Oswego.
Children in costume, 12 and under will receive a free goodie bag of Halloween treats, while supplies last. “The costume parade will be a special treat for the children,†said Events Coordinator, Danielle Hayden of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. “We also encourage the parents to dress up as well and make it a fun evening for the children.â€Â
Musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by The Billionaires. One of the most experienced bands in Central New York, The Billionaires, which feature a dynamic rhythm section, as well as both male and female lead vocalists, perform an entertaining mix of R&B, soul, ballads, rock & roll and standards. Flowers By Mr. John is sponsoring the Children’s Parade and entertainment.
This year’s Farmers’ Market hosts over 50 vendors offering a great selection of fresh produce, home made baked goods and delicacies, honey, maple syrup, and plenty of arts and crafts along with other crowd favorites such as fresh squeezed lemonade, fried dough, Italian sausages and more.
Market goers will also have the opportunity to help grow the Central New York Great Pumpkin Festival by purchasing 50 / 50 raffle tickets. Tickets will be available at the Chamber booth each week of the market. The winning ticket will be drawn during the Pumpkin Festival at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4th in Washington Square Park. You need not be present to win.
The Oswego Farmers Market will come to a close on Thursday, October 8th with the final market taking place from 5 – 9pm on West First Street in downtown Oswego. While the Farmers’ Market is fun for the whole family, the Chamber would like to remind everyone that for the safety of the pet, as well as the general public, animals are prohibited from the market.
