OSWEGO, NY – In preparation of the National Fire Prevention Week October 5 – 11, the Oswego Fire Department will host an open house on October 4 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Oswego Fire Department headquarters, located at 35 E. Cayuga St., will be open to the public for tours and safety demonstrations.
Tours of the John D. Murray Firefighters Museum will be available and the Oswego County Fire Safety Trailer will be on site.
Kids can come down and have some fun putting on fire gear, sitting in the trucks and operating a real fire hose with the help of our firefighters.
The popular OFD pink shirts, supporting cancer awareness, will be available for purchase as well.
Firefighters will be wearing these same shirts on duty for the month of October.
All proceeds will be donated to OCO’s Cancer Services.
Several other local public safety agencies will be on hand as well to greet the public.
