OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Firefighters’ Association sponsors several local youth sports teams, participates in countless community fundraisers, and donates thousands of dollars each year to local charities.
Just before Thanksgiving, members of the Oswego Firefighter’s Association, IAFF Local #126, gathered at the local Human Concerns Center to package up turkey, vegetables, stuffing, and all the other fixings for those in need.
Firefighters, their families, and even some of our retirees are always on hand at the event to greet people, package up the Thanksgiving staples, and carry out the items.
The Oswego Firefighters’ Association donates $1,500 annually to the Human Concerns Center for this important event, that allows those in need the opportunity to cook a traditional Thanksgiving feast.
Union president John Geraci said, “The Oswego Firefighters’ Association is proud to work with the Human Concerns Center to help provide local families in need with a nice holiday dinner. This is one of our favorite events to participate in, and naturally it’s a great feeling to help those that need a break.”
