Oswego Girls’ Lacrosse Splits 2 Games

From our last two games.
Vs. Cortland
Tonight we had too many unforced errors when we had the ball in our sticks and Cortland capitalized on them. This game was the most turnovers we have had this season and it allowed the host team to go to the goal too many times.

Our attack did a great job of backing up our shots tonight but we could not find the flow we needed on the offensive end of the field to find the back of the net more.

Cortland seemed to be three steps ahead of us in this game in all zones of the field, offense, defense and neutral territory.

We can take this game as a good learning lesson and know we need to be better at taking care of the ball during the game.

Our theme moving ahead is to take care of the ball, our game against Cortland taught us a lot and before the game started we reminded ourselves about how costly turnovers can be in this game and tonight our focus was on the ball.

That focus came to light tonight as we visited ESM.

We got behind by two goals in the first four minutes of the game – we regrouped and caught up and did not look back.

At half we were up by three goals but we knew that we needed to keep momentum in our direction.

The goal scoring was well spread out tonight and 10 of our 15 goals came from assists.  I am very happy with the effort we got from everyone.

Bree Konu had a good game in the net for us tonight and we did a good job tonight of taking care of the ball.

We have two more games this week and we have a few weeks left yet and need to keep working hard and taking care of the ball.
