Oswego Goaltender Receives Honor

Centerville, MA. – The ECAC Women’s West Hockey has named Catherine Cote of the women’s ice hockey team its Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 17.

Cote started and played complete games for the Lakers in both of its contest against Neumann University during the weekend. The senior earned wins in both outings, stopping a barrage of attempts and coming up with multiple key saves.

On Saturday, Cote saved 33 shots from the Knights, collecting the 2-1 overtime victory with 41 seconds remaining as classmate Melissa Seamont notched the game winner. Seamont was also recognized by the ECAC this week, being named to the Weekly Honor Roll. The senior scored the game-winning goal on Saturday and scored two more on Sunday.

Cote picked up where she left off on Sunday, holding Neumann scoreless for a 3-0 shutout victory. The Val D’Or native stopped 10 attempts by the Knights in the first period, weathering the barrage and yielding no damage. She went on to tally 17 saves on the day, rounding out her 2-0-0 week.
