OSWEGO – Oswego Harborfest planning for the 29th annual event is well under way and as always it is important for the community to be a part of the celebration.
Annually, the Oswego Harborfest poster has become not only a representation of the event, but a collector’s item.
However, this year the poster design is going in a slightly different direction.
Harborfest Promotions and Media Marketing Director Bill Foley said, “In recent years we have celebrated the work of high school students from Oswego and Fulton as they have created a wide variety of outstanding themed posters.”
“This year we are shifting the focus and while we have invited students from area high schools to submit poster designs, we are branching out to see if the artistic community in general would like to be involved and anyone in Central New York is invited to be a part of the creative effort,” he continued.
Submissions will be accepted from anyone who would like to have their art considered to become the poster for the 2016 Oswego Harborfest celebration.
Foley said, “The design of the festival is always much anticipated and hopefully the opportunity to expand the opportunity to be involved in Oswego Harborfest will provide additional quality submissions for this year’s event.
It is expected that the committee will make its final decision over this year’s design by early February.
Anyone wishing to submit their design should send it to: Bill Foley, Oswego Harborfest, 41 Lake St., Oswego NY 13126 by January 25, 2016.
The work can also be delivered to the offices Monday through Thursday.
Oswego Harborfest is one of the largest continuing free music festivals in the United States and is supported by Central New York corporations, businesses and individuals.
