OSWEGO, NY – As the Oswego Harborfest prepares to celebrate its upcoming 30th anniversary in July, the organization has reached out to high school students across Oswego County to design its annual poster.
This is an opportunity for students, faculty and family members to showcase Oswego County’s artistic youth.
This year’s theme is Through the Years.
The poster should be colorful, attractive and it must embody the spirit of Harborfest.
Incorporated in the design should be the the fact that it is the festival’s 30th anniversary, as well as some elements that have been used in past designs over the last 29 years. It should also contain, in an artistic fashion, the following copy: Harborfest July 27-30, 2017, Oswego, NY.
The winning artwork will be posted on the official website.
It will also be copied and framed and given to all of our 2017 sponsors and business members.
In addition to this, the winning artwork will be adapted for use on the 2017 Harborfest T-shirt, program, rack card, etc. as needed.
In addition, the winner will receive a prize of $100.
Students and faculty are welcomed to visit the Harborfest Offices at 41 Lake St. to examine posters from years past. Since office hours are limited during the fall/winter, it is advisable to call ahead to schedule a visit.
All entries should be postmarked by November 1 and should be submitted on 8.5 x 11 paper.
The winning entrant must furnish digital files of the design.
Copies of the entry form can be obtained by contacting the executive director at the contact information above.
