HANNIBAL, NY – Oswego Health and the Hannibal Village Market IGA recently partnered on National Wear Red Day to bring attention to the fact that heart disease is the number one killer of women.
On February 7, staff from Oswego Health offered free health screenings to store customers and provided heart-healthy information, which also included how to read nutritional food labels.
“Improving the health of our community is very important to Oswego Health and we were glad to have the opportunity to partner with the Hannibal Village Market IGA,” said Brenda LaMay, Oswego Health’s community health services director.
“Our customers enjoyed the focus on women’s health and many were surprised at their bone density scanning results,” said James Mirabito President of the Hannibal IGA. “We appreciate Oswego Health’s efforts to improve health awareness in Oswego County.”
