Oswego Health has named Cynthia Dash to its newly developed position of director of physician services.
As director of physician services, Dash will develop and implement strategies that assist in retaining and attracting new physicians to the health system. She arrives at Oswego Health with extensive experience in physician relations as she held a similar position at Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville.
“I am very much looking forward to understanding the needs of the community and current medical staff, which will help me to ensure that physician services continue to grow for to the residents of Oswego County,” Dash said. “I am also excited to join the renewal of healthcare as the Oswego Health system expands into the communities of Fulton and Central Square.”
Dash arrives at Oswego Health at a time when the healthcare system has recruited six new physicians to the organization. Three of those individuals have begun to provide services including Norma Cooney, MD., medical director of emergency services; Gastroenterologist Bishnu Sapkota, MD; and Psychiatrist Cecile Matip, MD., who is providing care to both children and adults.
In upcoming months, a new orthopedic surgeon, obstetrician/gynecologist and internist will join the active medical staff.
Dash holds a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management and an associate’s degree in business administration. She has worked in the healthcare field for more than 20 years.
The new director is a Sandy Creek native, where she and her husband reside. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, which includes four grown children.
