Three scholarships were recently awarded by members of the Oswego Health Auxiliary.
Each year the auxiliary provides scholarships to employees who are advancing their careers.
Seated are the recipients, from left Linda Cummings, a licensed practical nurse, studying at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing to earn her registered nursing degree; Danielle Reese, a scrub nurse in the Oswego Hospital surgery center, who is earning her registered nursing/bachelor of nursing degree from Excelsior College, based in Albany; and Melissa Purtell, RN, clinical manager of Oswego Hospital’s intensive care unit, who is attending classes through American Sentential University for her bachelors of science in nursing degree.
Standing from the left are Sarah Weigelt, Oswego Health Director of Volunteers and Auxiliary; Auxiliary President Barbara Handley-Place; Scholarship Co-Chair Mary Margaret Restuccio; Auxiliary Members Terri Smith and Mary Roman, along with Valerie Favata, Oswego Hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer.
Missing from the photo is Laura Suchnicki, scholarship co-chair.
