Oswego Health Behavioral Services Offers Education on Parenting Children with Mental Health Diagnoses


Staff from the Oswego Health’s Behavioral Service Department will hold educational presentations on a variety of common parenting issues specific to children diagnosed with mental health or emotional disturbance during the year.  Among the staff presenters from the left are Nurse Practitioner Kylie Lacey, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists Mihai Simionescu, MD and Marija Mutabdzic, MD.

Oswego Health’s Behavioral Services will hold educational presentations on a variety of common parenting issues specific to children diagnosed with mental health or emotional disturbance during the year.

Each of the free presentations will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. at Springside at Seneca Hill. The presentations are designed to help parents whose children currently receive mental health services, understand how best to address the particular issue being discussed. Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Mihai Simionescu, M.D. will be among the Oswego Hospital Child & Family Services professionals to lead the discussions. Time will be allowed for questions. Registration is required and can be arranged by calling 326-0157.

The specific date and discussion topic are as follows. Why do children misbehave, May 5; Communicating with children, May 12; Depression in children and adolescents, May 19; What is and what is not ADHD, May 26th; and on June 2nd, An open talk about tantrums.
