Oswego Health is starting a breast cancer support group that will be held the second Friday of each month from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the lower level conference room of the Oswego Health Services Center, which is adjacent to Oswego Hospital.
The support group’s initial meeting will be held January 14. The topic will be nutrition and helpful tips that help overcome the side effects of cancer treatments.
The support group is free and is lead by Amy Conzone, R.N., a certified breast care patient navigator in imaging, breast care and cancer. Conzone also oversees Oswego Health’s navigator breast cancer care program. Through this program, Conzone will help women and men diagnosed with breast cancer at each step of their care plan. “My goal is to ensure that our patients have compassionate, exceptional care,” Conzone said. “I can assist them as they move through their care, from learning about their diagnosis to survivorship care.” For more information on the support group or the navigator program, please call 349-5789.
