The Oswego High School will be hosting a hands-on workshop on February 13 to provide high school seniors planning to attend college, and their parents the opportunity to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on-line.
Financial Aid expert Kathy Flaherty from the State University of New York College at Oswego Financial Aid department will be available with her many years of experience working in financial aid at community college, state and private four-year colleges, to assist in the OHS Library on Feb 13 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Parents and students each need their own PIN number, so be sure and get them ahead of time at www.pin.ed.gov
You also need to bring with you the student’s and parents’ social security numbers, the student’s driver’s license if they have one, parents’ tax records, student’s tax records if they’ve filed or plan to file a tax return, and records of untaxed income in your family such as child support, Social Security, welfare benefits, or veterans benefits.
