OSWEGO, NY – Students who will be entering eighth or ninth grade in the fall can experience what itÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s like to work in a hospital through the Medical Academy of Science and HealthÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s Camp to be held at Oswego Hospital July 29 and 30.
The camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
Interested students must submit their application by June 30.
Students who participate in the camp will pay a $25 fee that will cover the cost of hospital scrubs and other camp supplies.
During the camp, students will learn about a variety of healthcare professions, as well as their education requirements, skills, job duties, and participate in interactive hands-on activities that highlight those skills, equipment, technology, and resources used by medical professions each day.
The camp is coordinated by the Central New York Area Health Education Center.
CNYAHEC is a non-profit health workforce development organization located in Cortland that serves 14 counties in central New York including Oswego County.
Program sponsors include Oswego Health, CNYAHEC and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.
