Oswego Kartway Cleanup Day, Open Practice Scheduled for April 20

OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Kartway will officially open its doors for the season on April 20 with a two-hour open practice scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

The Kartway’s test session will be open to any weekly division competing on a regular basis at the ‘Bull Ring.’

A $10 pit pass will be required to enter the pit area for the practice session.

The two-hour open session will follow a track cleanup day, which will coincide with Oswego Speedway’s Pizza Villa Spring Spruce-Up Day at 8 a.m.

All racers and teams are encouraged to come early and help to prepare the Kartway for the coming season, even if you do not intend to take any practice laps later in the afternoon.

The Kartway’s cleanup plans will include reassembling the pit area fencing, painting bleachers and other areas of the facility, as well as realigning the outside track barriers.

Any and all fans and community members are welcome to participate and help kick off the racing season at both the Speedway and the Kartway.

At the conclusion of the cleanup session, lunch will be served by Pizza Villa of Oswego at noon.

After lunch is served, pit selection will also take place for the 2013 season.

Those racers who renewed their Kartway memberships by the posted deadline will have the first opportunity to reclaim their pit spots from the 2012 season.

After all renewed members have selected their spots; all new members will then be able to select spaces in the order in which their memberships came into the Speedway offices.

The 2013 racing season at Oswego Kartway begins on April 26.

Events run April through September on most Friday nights, culminating with the Fall Frenzy 150 on September 20.
