Oswego Kartway to Host New York Dirt Kart Series on Saturday

OSWEGO, NY – For the first time the New York Dirt Kart Series will make a stop at the Oswego Kartway Bullring this Saturday, July 30.

The New York State travelling series, which has already made stops at Can-Am Speedway, Allegany Memorial Speedway, and Caroga Creek Raceway, features a 12 division race program with five premier PRO racing divisions.

Those PRO divisions which include Pro Blue Clone, Pro Purple Clone, Semi-Pro Clone, Pro Medium Clone, and Pro Heavy Clone will race for $4,200 in posted cash awards presented by Slack Karts, Tom’s Masonry & Concrete, Keister’s Karting Products, Atomic Signworks, and Tim Fishel Motorsports.

The combination of NYDKS regulars with Oswego Kartway’s weekly runners should make for a well-attended and action packed event.

Some of the best adult division racers in New York State karting will be at Saturday’s event including local standouts Tyler Thompson, Chris Pier, Josh Ostrander, Chris Natoli, Chris Pier, Jamie Shutts, Shannon Pitcher, DJ Shuman, Ricky Pritchard, and more.

The Kartway’s best will go up against top flight travelers including Brad Duhow, Hannah Weltzer, Pete Palmieri, Blake Matjoulis, Josh Hansen, Jonathan Reid, and Mike Jeffery.

While the adult action is fast and furious on the NYDKS, the junior action is just as exciting.

Leading the youth pack of racers will be Oswego regulars Tyler Emmons, Logan Crisafulli, Tanner Emmons, Jake Holmes and David Hackett Jr.

Combine the local aces with invaders such as Justice Mayo, James Donaldson, Dalton Slack, and Tanner Krist and you have a star studded lineup for junior action at the Bullring this Saturday.

Pit gates will open for competitors on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. The drivers’ meeting is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m. with hot laps beginning at 2 p.m. Time trials will go green at 3 p.m. with B-Mains and A-Mains to follow.

Pro class entry fees are $50 per class with non-pro series class entries set at $30 for NYDKS members and $45 for non-members. There is also a $10 transponder rental fee if you do not have one.

A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, July 31.

As always spectators are welcome to come to the Kartway and enjoy the racing action. A full service concession stand is open, with limited bleacher seating. Fans are encouraged to bring their vehicle and park along the racing surface for a great view of the action. Admission for fans is $5 per car load.

Kartway events run May through September on most Friday nights, culminating with the Fall Frenzy 200 Championships on Saturday, September 24.
