OSWEGO, NY – A host of Oswego Kartway track champions are making the long haul to Williamston, NC for the eighth annual Indoor Dirt Karting Championships to be held January 8-9.
Among the drivers attending is 2015 Oswego Kartway Driver of the Year and Clone 425 track champion, Seth Baum.
While Baum did not reach victory lane in ’15, his year-long consistency helped him achieve his first adult track championship over his father, Scott Baum, and Kartway veteran Paul Fountaine.
Just last month Baum earned a top five finish in the Clone Super Heavy division as a part of the 23rd annual NYS Indoor Championships held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
Joining Baum on the trip to North Carolina will be former Jr. Purple Clone Kartway track champion, Madison Baum.
“Maddy” collected three main event wins at the Kartway in 2015, falling only 20 points shy of defending her Jr. Purple Clone track title.
The Kartway’s new Jr. Purple Clone track champion is Tanner Emmons, who will join the Baum’s on the journey south. Tanner had a breakout season in 2015, winning five main events during the regular season to claim the track championship.
Emmons also took on the NYS Indoor Championships in Syracuse, finishing with a fourth place effort in Jr. Clone Green.
Another Emmons set to take on the Williamston indoor oval is another track champion in Tyler Emmons. Tyler won four regular season main events in 2015 to earn the Sr. Green Clone track title.
In the Syracuse indoor championships, Tyler scored a very respectable runner-up finish in Jr. Clone Green behind Canadian runner Matthew Robidoux.
More than 700 total entries are expected for this year’s Indoor Dirt Karting Championships across a platform of some 30+ racing divisions.
