OSWEGO, NY – Kindergarten registration is rapidly approaching in the Oswego City School District.
This year kindergarten registration for September 2014 will be from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. daily from February 10 through 14 in the school the child will be attending.
After February 14, children can be registered at the Oswego City School District Superintendent’s Office, 120 E. First St., between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on the third floor with the Central Registrar.
Registration packets will be mailed to every child that will turn the age of five on or before December 1.
To register, parents or guardians must bring the registration packet, birth certificate, proof of immunization, proof of residency and custody paperwork if applicable.
Students who attended Universal Pre-Kindergarten will not need to register, but parents are asked to provide updated immunization records.
A notification of which immunizations your child still needs will be sent to you during the summer.
They will also need a Dental Certificate (which New York State law allows schools to request) and physical form which needs to be completed and signed by the family physician and returned.
If someone has a child who is eligible to attend kindergarten and has not received a packet, please contact the elementary school offices or the School Registrar at the phone numbers listed below:
Charles E. Riley – 341-2800, Frederick Leighton – 341-2700, Fitzhugh Park – 341-2400, Kingsford Park – 341-2500, Minetto Elementary – 341-2600 or the School Registrar – 341-2045.
All September 2014 kindergarten students will be scheduled for screening at the time of registration.
