Oswego Library Begins New Reading Program

The Friends of the Oswego Public Library sponsor a program to read to those residents of Oswego who can no longer read for themselves.

The library is looking for compassionate people who are interested in working with the elderly and/or the visually handicapped as a reader.

The readers work in conjunction with one of the healthcare facilities in Oswego on a regular schedule. A reader may be assigned individuals or small groups. Books are chosen either by the group or by the reader, with several suggestions available from the library. One FOL Reader even organized a special recipe reading and baking activity at one of the facilities.

If you are interested in becoming a reader, please contact Michele Southgate at the Oswego Public Library, 341-5867 or [email protected]
