OSWEGO – The Oswego Lions Club will hold their annual beer and wine tasting with silent auction Friday, March 25th at the American Foundry in Oswego.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., with pre-sale tickets $15.00 and $20.00 at the door the night of the event. Each person will be provided a complimentary wine glass or beer mug at the door.

Constellation Energy Nuclear Group and Pathfinder Bank have signed on as corporate sponsors of this year’s event. “It’s great to have local businesses step in and “help out” our event, which in turns allows our club to benefit so many in our community,” said Karen Hammond, chairperson of this year’s silent auction event.

“The Oswego Lions Club is looking forward to another great beer and wine tasting with silent auction this year,” said Bob Bateman, president of the local chapter of Lions International. “The event has truly become one that the entire community looks forward to each March.”

As we have for the past few years, there will be a live auction. The live auction will feature dinner for four at the high bidders home, courtesy of Ray Jock of the LaParilla Restaurant. The meal will include appetizers, dinner and dessert. Sponsor of the live auction dinner will be Deb McKinstry of Maida’s Floral Shop. Another featured item for the live auction will be a wine cellar with wine refrigerator. Also, returning to the event is the very popular $100 scratch off Lottery Ticket board

The annual event will also once again showcase many of the area’s finest beer and wine vendors, including Lakeland Winery, Americana Vineyards, Ashley Lynn Winery, White Springs Winery, and Young, Somers Winery, Eagle Beverage, Finger Lakes Distributors, and T.J. Sheehans.

The popular silent auction will include many donated items from businesses throughout the area including: Antique Chairs from Ray‘s Furniture Perk, a cake a month for a year from Cakes Galore & More, Drywall service, Gift Certificates from area restaurants, Gift Baskets from area businesses and much more. If businesses would like to donate a silent auction item, there is still time by calling Karen Hammond at 342-0043 or Bob Bateman at 342-9866.

“We appreciate the donations that the many local businesses within the community have provided again this year,” said Hammond. “The business owners and managers continue to recognize the important role our club maintains within this community, and their donations and sponsorships show their commitment.”

Complimentary appetizers will be provided. A cash bar will also will be available at The American Foundry. Please feel free to contact Karen Hammond at 342-0043 or Bob Bateman at 342-9866 with any questions and/or to purchase tickets.
