OSWEGO, NY – Friends of the Oswego Public Library is pleased to announce that the Oswego Lions Club has joined the Friends as a Silver Member.
The Friends recently expanded its membership to include businesses and organizations, as well as individuals.
Oswego Lions Club is a local service organization that, “is a part of Lions Clubs International, a network of volunteers who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities,” as stated on the club’s website.
By becoming a Silver Member of the Friends of Oswego Public Library, the Oswego Lions Club contributes to supporting the programs and services of the library.
Friends of the Library is an organization of patrons committed to expanding and enriching the programs of the Oswego Public Library.
The Friends support many programs and activities such as children’s story hours, summer reading programs, and Battle of the Books; computer classes in the library learning center; book review and author programs; book donations for the adult reading circle; refreshments and volunteers for adult programs; holiday poinsettias to decorate the library; employee appreciation events such as an annual staff luncheon.
The Friends of Oswego Public Library invites all individuals, businesses and organizations in the Oswego Community to join them in supporting and promoting the programs and services of the Oswego Public Library.
Business/organization memberships in Friends of the Library are available in three levels: Bronze – $100; Silver – $250; Gold – $500.
Businesses that join Friends of Oswego Public Library receive many benefits in addition to supporting the programs and services of the library.
Benefits can include publicity about the membership, a certificate to display at the business, links to the website of the businesses or organization on the Friends’ website, and listing the name of the business or organization on the Friends bulletin board in the library.
