“We continue a Lions Club tradition once again this year with a great night of laughs, said John Deary, Oswego Lions Club president. “This event has always been a popular fundraiser and we anticipate that this will be another great one.”

The event is a major fundraiser for the local service organization and helps to support ongoing programs and services throughout the Oswego community for the visually and hearing impaired.

Proceeds from past fundraising events have helped to support The Book Mobile, “The Children’s Museum of Oswego, “H” and Mary Dowd $2,000 Annual Scholarship Fund, Friends of Camp Hollis, The Oswego Library Capital Campaign, The Golisano Children’s Hospital, The United Way Stone Soup Food Pantry and Stuff a Bus, “There is no Magic in Drugs” – a drug awareness program for all the elementary schools and The Oswego Little League, just to mention a few.

This year, the adult themed comedy night will showcase Erin Jackson and opener Dan Guerin.

Armed with a megawatt smile and a pocket full of dreams, Erin Jackson is poised to conquer the world of stand-up.

Since first making a name for herself at colleges and East Coast comedy clubs, her conversational style and relatable humor have helped to propel her onto the national stage.

Jackson was a semifinalist on the latest reboot of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and co-hosted three seasons of “Exhale,” a provocative and candid talk series on Magic Johnson’s ASPiRE television network.

She can be seen nightly in many of New York City’s top comedy clubs, and has performed stand-up on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” OWN’s “Wanda Sykes Presents Herlarious,” Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live” and TV Guide Network’s “Standup in Stilettos.”

She has appeared on NFL Network, VH-1 and TV Guide Network as a panelist on sports and pop-culture countdown shows, and she also works as a voice-over artist, lending her vocals most recently to the Morgan Spurlock-produced “We the Economy” documentary series.

A proud alumna of Howard University, she is obsessed with the Philadelphia Eagles.

During the day, Geurin is the typical guy next door.

He’s a husband, a father, and your neighbor.

However at night, his life becomes anything but typical when he takes the stage as a professional stand-up comedian.

Geurin is a regular at Northeast comedy clubs including The Comedy Works, Syracuse Funny Bone, and Albany Funny Bone.

He’s also performed all over the East Coast as part of The “Not Too Far From Home Comedy Tour.”

Geurin will show you that our everyday lives are funny and that you never really know what the guy next door is up to.
