Oswego Man Arrested for Robbery Attempt in Volney

OSWEGO – On July 7, State Police charged Marcus M. Miller, age 33, of 37 E. Ninth St., Oswego, with Attempted Robbery 1st degree, a class “B” felony.

At 2:55 a.m., State Police in Fulton responded to an attempted robbery complaint that occurred on State Route 481 in the town of Volney.

Investigation revealed the victim was driving Miller to a residence in the city of Fulton, police said.

While en route, Miller allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded the victim drive to his house and surrender a TV and other electronics to Miller upon arrival.

When they arrived at the victim’s house, the victim was able to escape and contact police.

Miller was arraigned in the Town of Volney Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail without bail.

He is scheduled to return to the City of Fulton court on July 27 at 9 a.m.
