CHEAP SEATS WINS 2 GAMES TO 0

CHEAP SEATS 12 LA’GRAFF’S 11

In a tight opening round game Cheap Seats pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to claim game one from La Graff’s Pub 12 to 11.  Trailing most of the way La Graff’s battled back with 5 in the sixth and one more in the seventh tying the game at 11, and forcing Cheap Seats to score in the bottom of the seventh.  Ryan Delong had a home run for Cheap Seats while Derek Osmund had a single and double.  Bob Garafolo led La Graffs with a double and triple, while A.J. Thurlow had a double.

CHEAP SEATS 16 LA’GRAFF’S 4

In the second game Cheap Seats scored often and early as they cruised to a 16 to 4 win over La’ Graffs to complete their season with the regular season crown and playoff crown. Cheap Seats took and early 8 to 4 lead after three and cruised the rest of the way.  Ryan Delong had three hits and a home run for Cheap Seats, while George Delong, Steve Lamanche and Dan Alfieri had three hits each.  Dan Goodrow added a home run./  for La Graff’s A.J. Thurlow had a double and home run while Bob Garafolo had a single and double.

MEN’S C- FAST SEMIFINALS

SOUTH FORTY 10 RVP INTERNATIONAL 0

South 40 which finished third in the regular season ousted RVP International which finished second 10 to 0 in the semifinals of C-Fast.   South 40’s Cory Sullivan had a big night at bat with two singles to go along with his 3 run home run in the top of the 6th inning.  George Young added 4 hits and two doubles.  In picking up the win Bill Bosch allowed RVP International only 4 hits.

MEN’S B- FAST SEMIFINALS

WHEAT’S EXCAVATION 2 OSWEGO QUALITY CARPETS 0

Scoring the winning run in the bottom of the fifth and adding an insurance run in the sixty, regular season champion Wheat’s Excavation eliminated Oswego Quality Carpets 2 to 0 in the opening round of the Men’s B-Fast playoffs.  Picking up the only run they needed Fred Kent’s single in the fifth drove home Greg Distin who had tripled earlier in the inning.  For Oswego Quality Carpets the only 2 hits allowed by winning pitcher Jim Bevacqua was a triple by Greg Lavery and a triple by Jeremy Cahill.  Wheat’s Excavation will face the winner of Wednesday nights game between Budweiser and Cutro’s Professional Inpsections beginning Monday August 25th in the best of 3 finals.
