Oswego Music Hall of Fame Announces 4th Annual Fundraiser, Induction Awards Ceremony

OSWEGO – The Oswego Music Hall of Fame will take place October 21 at The American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St.

The event begins at 2 p.m. with a performance by Oswego rockers F5.

The official ceremonies will begin at 3 p.m. with the induction of the award winners.

The first inductee of 2018 is Bob Hageny, who receives the DJ/Announcer award.

Immediately following Hageny’s award will be a reunion performance by The Rocking Hi Los. Original members and previous Hall of Famers Fred Greco, Jim Yaeger and Eddie Powers will share the stage with Ginger Bieganowski and Jim Dillabough.

At 3:30 p.m., two Hall of Fame Sponsorship winners Riley Newman and Nolan O’Brien will take the stage.

Both are students at The Gina Marie Music.

Immediately following their individual performance a sit-down dinner will be served.

During dinner, the Eddie Goodness Quartet will perform jazz classics for listening enjoyment.

Hall of Famers Goodness, Dick Guyer and Powers will be joined by Joe Cortini.

At the close of dinner, 2017 People’s Choice winner Billy and The Barons will perform with Matt Henderson taking the place of his late uncle and original member Jack Henderson.

Following Billy and The Barons will be a tribute and posthumous induction of Tim ‘Weasel’ Smith.

Smith was an original member of Frostbit Blue, 2017 HOF winners.

At 5:30 p.m., John Bosco will accept a posthumous award in the barbershop category in honor of his father, Joseph Bosco Sr.

At this time The Classic Touch Barbershop Quartet will perform.

Next up Joe Loschiavo will accept the Big Band award in honor of his father, Charles Loschiavo.

At 6 p.m., Oswego native Joanna Nix Jewett will accept the Vocalist award and will also perform with her group The Mix Tapes.

At 6:30 p.m., Kent Proctor will accept a posthumous award on behalf of his parents Dick and Dixie Proctor.

He will also perform with The Pep Trio in their honor.

At 6:45 p.m., drummer Richard ‘Dick” Germain Sr. will receive the award in the jazz category and will perform with Paul Vandish.

The final award – The Joseph P. Spereno Hall of fame Award goes to The Valiants.

They will close the show with a rousing set with/by Sam Domicolo, Bob Shannon, Terry Syrell, Jim Losurdo and Dick Hillman.
