Oswego Players Continue Season With ‘Life With Father’

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Players will present the second production of their 2012 Season in mid-April.

Director Bobby Fontana has chosen and oldie, “Life with Father,” by Clarence Day, published shortly after the author’s death in 1938.

Surprisingly, in research going back to the Players’ formation in, coincidentally, 1938, this will be the first Players’ presentation of this fine show.

In “Life with Father,” Day presents a picture of New York upper middle class family life in the 1890s.

It is a far, far different world from the one in which we live today.

Fontana enjoys doing period pieces and it will be interesting to observe how his actors handle material so far removed from their own everyday lives.

The cast includes Knate Roy as Clarence Day Sr., the forthright and sometimes irascible father; Stephanie Johnson portrays his consistently diplomatic wife, Vinnie; and Norman Berlin III will play the Day’s oldest son, Clarence Jr.

The remaining characters are Jennifer Snow (cousin Cora), Danielle Currier (Mary, who catches the eye of young Clarence Jr.), Larry Rose (Dr. Lloyd), Mary Buske (Annie), Lisa Buske (Margaret) and Amanda Mosher (Nora).

Show dates will be announced later.

Ticket prices are $10/adults, $8/seniors and $7/students, and are available by calling the Players’ Box Office at 315.343.5138.
