Oswego Players Open Playwriting Contest

The Oswego Players, Inc., now in their 72nd year of operation, announces that they are accepting scripts in the Donald J. McCann Memorial Playwriting Contest. The winning playwright will receive a $250 prize at the premiere of the play by the Oswego Players.
The contest is open to all playwrights, and this is the fifth year that the contest has been in operation, honoring McCann who was an active member, director, actor, writer and administrator for the organization prior to his death in 2004. Deadline for the one act scripts is October 15 of this year. Plays should run approximately 20-30 minutes, include roles for no more than eight people and be easily staged on the Players’ stage. No verse or period costume plays will be accepted.

Rick Sivers, Trustee of the McCann Fund within the Players said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for playwrights to have their works evaluated by the committee and for the chosen work to have its premier this November at the Oswego Arts Center in Oswego.”
