OSWEGO – On Wednesday (June 15), at about 10:47 p.m., the Oswego Police Department was dispatched to Empower Federal Credit Union located at 100 George St. for a bank alarm.
Upon their arrival they observed damage to a metal door that was still locked and secured.
During their investigation loud banging was heard coming from the Compass Federal Credit Union located at 131 George St.
An officer responding to investigate the noise then located a pickup truck in the ATM lane.
The truck had a tow chain attached to the ATM machine, attempting to pull it out of the wall, according to police.
The truck was reportedly being driven by Angelo M. Palloni, 56, of 833 County Route 20, Oswego.
It was determined that Palloni had first attempted to force his way into the Empower Federal Credit Union, but was unsuccessful.
It was also found that Palloni unlawfully possessed 10 Alprazolam pills.
Palloni was taken into custody and held at the Oswego City Police Department pending arraignment.
For his actions at the Empower Federal Credit Union, Palloni was charged with Attempted Burglary 3rd degree (D Felony) and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree (E Felony).
For his actions at the Compass Federal Credit Union, Palloni was charged with Attempted Grand Larceny 2nd degree (C Felony), Grand Larceny 2nd Degree (D Felony), Criminal Mischief 2nd degree (D Felony), Possession of Burglar Tools (A Misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (A Misdemeanor).
Today (June 16), at 1:45 p.m., Palloni was arraigned in Oswego City Court on the above charges.
Palloni was remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
He has a return court date of June 21 at 9:30 a.m. in Oswego City Court.
