OSWEGO, NY – The Common Council announced Monday night that the city had a memorandum of Agreement with the Municipal Employees Association for Management and Supervision of the City of Oswego.
The previous deal expired Dec. 31, 2009.
The city and association had been involved in collective bargaining (including a declaration of impasse, which incorporated mediation), which has led to a mutual understanding between the two sides.
The agreement is subject to ratification by the members of the association and the council. The council voted 7-0 to accept the deal.
Under the agreement, all members of the bargaining unit shall receive an annual increase as follows:
A zero percent increase in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
A $1,250 off schedule lump sum payment in 2014.
And, an increase of 2 percent in 2015
Effective Jan. 1, 2014, members of the bargaining unit will contribute 12 percent of the monthly premium cost deducted from payroll.
