OSWEGO, NY – This evening (Feb. 11), at the nominating meeting of the Oswego County Republican Committee, Congressman John Katko (NY-24) was unanimously endorsed in his campaign for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives.
This evening’s endorsement comes less than one week after Congressman Katko was endorsed by the Onondaga County Republican Committee, demonstrating his vast support across the district and recognizing his commitment to fighting though partisan gridlock to deliver results for all of NY-24.
“Oswego County stands behind Congressman John Katko,” said Oswego County Republican Committee Chairman Fred Beardlsey. “Congressman Katko is dedicated and responsive leader for Oswego County who has proven that he cares about his constituents and the future of his community. Tonight, our committee unanimously endorsed his candidacy, and we stand ready to fight for his continued leadership in Congress.”
“I am humbled and honored to have received the unanimous support of the Oswego County Republican Committee, and I thank Chairman Beardsley for his kind words,” said Katko. “Since being elected to serve Central New York in Congress, I’ve focused extensively on the needs of Fulton, Oswego, and all of Oswego County. I believe in Oswego County, and together with the help of my constituents, I’ve worked to prioritize local economic development, growing tourism through the creation of a National Park at Fort Ontario, and combating the devastating heroin and synthetic drug epidemic. Again, I am incredibly grateful for tonight’s endorsement and I will continue to be a responsive, visible, and mindful leader for the entire Oswego community.”
Katko was elected in November 2014 to represent 24th Congressional District of New York, which includes Onondaga, Cayuga, and Wayne counties and the western portion of Oswego County.
